BB 10 mobile operating system marks RIM’s initial transition to BlackBerry; Z10 and Q10 unveiled

The company Research In Motion has planned a wholly transformation to BlackBerry, from email migration of @blackberry.com suffix to the company’s trading name. At the same time the company unveiled its betting operating system BlackBerry 10. The OS was promising since its first appearance last year and the recent launch has well depicted the OS as the company’s elevation.

Formerly known as RIM, the company has revealed two BlackBerry 10 handsets – BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10. Z10 is a full touchscreen device without any hardware buttons on front. Q10 is a touchscreen handset with physical keyboard. BlackBerry 10 has a new intuitive swipe navigational interface which clearly puts it on the innovative shelf of mobile operating system. This OS is much different than other major OS like iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

It’s not just about finger swipe navigational interface. There are couple of extra-ordinary features too. Swipe a finger from bottom bezel to the screen and then to the right bezel, that would open BlackBerry Hub app. BlackBerry Hub has social communicative features that you concern about. It’s “a single place to manage all your conversations” – may it be emails, BBM, Facebook or Twitter. The ability to peek in the BB Hub while having another app running is a plus goodness.

The keyboard is well engineered. It learns what you type, adapts itself to bring you predicted words over the keys. Swipe up a key and the entire word pops in the input box. Other features includes BB contact voice/video calling (over WiFi), Time Shift (a camera feature which make sure you don’t capture the person blinking), BB 10 Browser, and many more.

BlackBerry 10 is neat mix up of multimedia capabilities and a worthy enterprise solution. BlackBerry Balance “separates and secures” work applications and files from personal contents and preferences.

And one of the most important thing for app lovers and patrons, BlackBerry World has 70k BB 10 apps.

Both Z10 and Q10 incorporates dual-core processor clocking at 1.5GHz with 2 gigs of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Check out the source to know more about specs. BlackBerry Z10 is probably available in UK by now, priced on pay monthly contracts and pre-pay plans. It’s going to show up in Canada on February 5th, to retail at $150 on a 3 year contract. Z10 will be available in UAE on February 10th at an unsubsidized price of AED 2,599 (around 700 USD). Other global carriers are awaited for pre-order registrations. BlackBerry Q10 will roll out globally by April.
