  • Apple and Google readying themselves to bid on Kodak’s patents

News coming in from WSJ: Apple and Google will bid on Kodak’s 1,000 patents block. Apple is setting a team which could include Microsoft and Intellectual Ventures forming “one bidding group”. Google on the other hand could be in works with HTC, Samsung, LG and RPX to form its bidding group. Earlier this month, Kodak was granted to sell its digital imaging patents and it’s said that August 8′s going to be the auction day for Eastman’s patents. Interesting to see the two giants lining up to buy Kodak’s patents, but they have lesser imaging technologies for mobile devices. There’s no official word from Kodak.
