Google released transparency report of July ’11 – Dec ’11; 2,207 user data requests were made by Indian gov

Google released its transparency report of July ’11 to December ’11, stating  a considerably increasing number of user data requests from Indian government – 2,207 user data request – 66% of them have been compiled. 3,427 users/accounts were specified in the total data requests. During January ’11 and June ’11, government agencies made 1,739 user data request which merely was an increment of extra 40 from previous six months of duration. There had been 101 content removal requests during the period by government officials and court orders, 255 items were removed.
