Want a free parking space? Get an Android.
Yeah yeah we know this has been tried many times – and it wasn’t very successful, but most of the things Google touches – becomes successful. This time, its a freaky app to tell you where you can park your car, maybe a sports car – it’s called “Open Spot” available for Android 2.0 and up in Market Store, for free from Google.
This app lets drivers know about open parking slots, that are infact marked by other Open Spot users – the good thing about this “method” is there is no need “invent” or do any sort of change in any infrastructure – your fellow Android users can simply tell that they are leaving this parking spot “open” so you can see on your Android phone, that there is a free’ed up parking spot available.
Though, this also brings one problem – if this gets very much popular (which we sort of doubt) and someone mark’s a parking spot “open”, there can be more than multiple Android users around finding for a parking space, and most probably all of them will rush for that spot, clearly only one of them will get the spot – wasting time of other users.
We will see how this goes, Oh! and as you can see in above screenshot, you get something called “Karma Points” for each parking spot you mark, sounds a good idea! We don’t know if you can get some other reward from these points, yet.
Just don’t do this with your car while staring your phone and driving for a parking – Safe Driving!
