Asus Android Tablet Eee Pad coming soon
Asus is about to launch it’s Android based tablet / slate computer in this year itself. It’s an official announcement.
Well, here it comes, a tablet PC war. After the come up of Apple iPad, OEMs like Asus, HP, and others are trying to make tablet PCs, not operated by desktop OS but by mobile OS. Tablet PCs are coming up with proprietary OS and Android OS.
Anyway, the new Asus Eee Pad is an NVidia Tegra based tablet PC with Android OS. Announced at a conference Asustek Computer chairman Jerry Shen in Taiwan, Eee Pad will be introduced, demoed at Computex 2010 around June 1 to 5. And it will be available by Q3 of 2010. Eee Pad will cost around $479 to $510 (USD.)
As reported in DigiTimes, “To compete against Apple’s iPad, Asustek has strengthened the Eee Pad’s industrial design and has cooperated with Google to adopt its Android platform. Asustek will also add features that iPad currently does not support such as USB, integrated webcam, and Adobe Flash, Shih noted”
