Use Windows 7 RC for one more month!
Windows 7 RC was released some month’s back with a note that it is going to expire on 2nd March and completely stop working from June.
Now when it has expired, its restarting in every 2 hours without saving anything or giving any warning, however we have found a temporary fix!, just change the year of your computer’s date to 2009 or 2008, and it should not restart every 2 hours anymore! If for some reason it does not work , just check if date has also changed in BIOS.
Applications/Services that will get affected by this trick so beware:
- Internet browser
- HTTPS protocol
- Windows Media center — downloads old TV Guides
- All antivirus
Online services that will get affected
- Paypal will not work.
- Gmail will work but will show certificate error.
- Some websites will not work due to SSL and HTTPS, these websites have certificates and your browser verifies the certificates, every certificate has a expiry and issue date, if your computer date is before the issue date the certificate is not valid, and if it is not valid it causes a “Certificate Invalid error” most of the times just clicking proceed works.
So, this trick is for those people who want to upgrade their pc right now or they cant buy a Windows 7 final release right now. This is a temporary work around.
If you tried this little trick yet powerful and if it worked please leave a comment so others also know.
